Edie's our Yorkshire lass after "trouble-free and joyous" birth at CRH!

   New parents Simon and Louise Cunningham from London have thanked maternity at CRH after their baby daughter was born 230-miles from home.     Louise went into labour early during a visit to Halifax for a wedding and gave birth at CRH.Now they have written to the Courier in praise of the care they received.

   There were strong and passionate performances from across the Trust during the Market Place judging day for Celebrating Success last Friday.     All the shortlisted projects were examined in-depth and the presenters given the extra chance for their scheme to shine.

Our BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) network met recently to discuss how they'll work together to help support their action plans approved by the Board.     WRES was introduced across the NHS in April 2015 after engaging and consulting key stakeholders.  read more

Our next Mindfulness course starts soon - interest is hotting up so book your space quickly (to help avoid stressing out!)

By the end of autumn, five courses will have been run by Jill Palmer and Prasadu (pictured). Each has been full with 20 participants, and there is also generally a waiting list.      Drop-in mindfulness sessions are also on offer to colleagues who have attended at least four sessions. These are one hour per week for six weeks.  read more

   CHFT takes its educational role very seriously. One of its ongoing educational commitments is the PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills - PACES) course which is a regional course for Yorkshire and Humber trainees held annually at CHFT.  read more

A big shake up in Community Specialise Palliative Care Team     After 20 years working for CHFT, Sylvia North (pictured centre) is retiring from the Calderdale Community Specialist Palliative Care Team this week.  read more

New Snowdrop baby chapel dedicated at Parkwood Crematorium

      The Snowdrop Chapel - a special area for babies' funerals - has been created at Parkwood Crematorium and our chaplain Tom McKinlay was at the opening. (see photo attached)     It was named after this verse which is very often chosen by parents for such sad situations.  read more

Hypoglycaemia Awareness week

All the action for Hypo Awareness Week        Hypo Awareness Week is back and we’ve got plenty planned for this year’s campaign.     The annual drive to raise awareness of hypoglycaemia in the UK, by educating healthcare professionals, will take place between Monday, October 3, and Sunday, October 9.  read more
