Golden effort for Olympic week on Ward 5 at HRI

Ward 5 at HRI have been "flaming" brilliant at fundraising this month for new equipment on the ward.     This week it's been Olympic week. Olympic-themed raffle tickets at £1 a strip were sold with the winner in with a chance of winning a massive hamper filled with goodies including chocolate and sweets.

Matron Janette's on a mission for medical division. All their matrons will be trained flu fighters this year

We can't hold matron Janette Cockroft back as she leads the way in medicine, preparing for the winter flu campaign. She's making sure there are as many flu flighters as possible, increasing the numbers from 23 last year to 73.     And to top it off - all matrons in medicine will be flu fighters this year - which is a first.

It's the annual all-change in your Communications team as we welcome another Huddersfield University student on work placement. And we've just learned that last year's student Lucy Mulcahy has secured a comms job with Northern Rail. This means we have a 100% success rate for our students going into jobs.  read more

Our long awaited CQC report was published on Monday and around 300 colleagues attended special briefings on the day to hear all about it.     Overall our rating was “requires improvement” which puts us in line with all other trusts in West Yorkshire.  read more

Celebrating Success Awards - it's down to the shortlisting team now

Shortlisting has begun in earnest for our Celebrating Success Awards 2016. And with a record 107 entries this year, we know the shortlisters will need their time in August to score the entries.     The 27-strong group of shortlisters work right across our Trust. They'll score the entries anonymously to make sure the process is fair.  read more

End of life care engagement event at Madni Mosque, Halifax

A morning conference has been arranged at the Madni Mosque, Gibbet Street, Halifax on Tuesday 23rd August (9.30 – 13.30)     The intention is to give information and guidance on end of life care issues to members of the Asian community.     It is also an opportunity for those within healthcare to listen to concerns about accessing services.  read more
