Lynn Stott's retiring...but she'll be back!

Ward 14 manager, Lynn Stott, has retired after more than 40 years nursing.     She's been counting down the pay days for nearly three years when it was 30 to go, and can't believe the time to her retirement has flown so quickly.     She said: "Every day has been different.

   Our General Manager in Children's Services, Gill Harries, completed the “Moon Walk” recently, power walking 26.2 miles overnight with friends raising awareness and money for breast cancer care and research. The condition is expected to affect 1 in 8 women in the UK.

New care pathway for transfusion of blood products - starts Monday 4 July

There are two significant changes to the pathway which come into force on Monday 4 July.     Firstly, the care plan will contain a prescription page to be used instead of the generic intravenous fluid prescription chart.  read more

Wards 8ab at Halifax Gala again this year...raising £472

Colleagues from the elective orthopaedic unit at CRH on wards 8ab have a stall at the charity gala every year. This year's gala was a special occasion as it was the 60th anniversary, and as usual the whole unit was involved in making it happen.  read more

Estates and Facilities surgeries now monthly - Lesley Hill and Dave McGarrigan on hand to take your questions

Colleagues from all divisions are invited to drop in to the Estates and Facilities surgeries to chat to Lesley and Dave or to ask questions or talk about anything Estates and Facilities related.     They will be held monthly replacing the weekly Wednesday surgeries.  read more

Remembrance service for lost little ones

On Sunday July 17th, there will be a Remembrance Service held at 3pm in the grounds of Acre House.    The service is being jointly organised by our local SANDS groups (Huddersfield and Halifax) and the Hospital Chaplaincy; we hope it caters for those of all faiths and none and gives space to remember with love the babies who have gone before us.  read more
