Not long left to have your say on extra public sessions planned

There are fewer than four weeks left to have your say on proposed changes to local hospital and community services.

Colleagues and residents across Calderdale and Greater Huddersfield are being encouraged to get involved in the public consultation and complete the Have your Say survey to help shape the future of local health services.

The survey gives you a chance to have your say on: what you think about the proposed changes; if anything has been missed; what worries you; and what could improve the changes being proposed.

The proposals are about changing the way people are treated – not closing services.

Under the proposals, there would be two Urgent Care Centres – one at CRH and one at the Acre Mills site, Huddersfield. The majority of people who visit A&E now could be treated in an Urgent Care Centre.  All emergency and acute care and high risk planned care would be brought together at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) and the Acre Mills, Huddersfield, site would be developed as a hospital with dedicated planned care services. The proposed new model of care is supported by further strengthening community services.

See the attachments for more information or the website: where you can also complete the survey online (which is quicker and easier than on paper).

Community staff information session – Wednesday 8 June

To help colleagues find out more, give them an opportunity to talk to the CCG as well as senior staff from our Trust, we’ve organised a session at St John’s Health Centre on Wed 8 June. It is drop-in so please come along at any point between 11.30am and 1.30pm if you have questions, views or need to know more about the proposals.

Plus....extra public meeting and drop-in sessions - colleagues welcome

To give as many people as possible the chance to get involved in the consultation, an additional public meeting with an independent chair has been arranged on Monday, 6 June, 6.30-8.30pm at the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield.

To manage public interest and expectations and for health and safety reasons, admission will be by ticket only. Please visit to book or if you need help booking and/or have access needs please call 01484 464212.

And here are all the remaining sessions - if you live nearby and haven't yet looked into what it means we'd urge you to attend.
