Here's Brendan Brown - our new Director of Nursing

   A real transformation specialist, Brendan Brown joins us as Director of Nursing from the Burton Hospitals where he had been Director of Nursing since February 2013. In March 2015, he took over the portfolio for operational management and took on the joint portfolio of Chief Nurse and Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive.

Passionate about paediatrics....Sister Liz Bishop has retired

Sister Liz Bishop from the Children's Ward at CRH retired last week. She began her career in the same week that Roxette was number 1 with "It must have been love" and we think it must have been for her to stay at CHFT for so many years.

Mr Aldoori's big trip to Buckingham Palace ended in tears and hugs - but not from his wife!     Our surgeon went to the Palace to see his wife collect an MBE and bumped into a former patient who told him: "I wouldn't be here if you hadn't saved my life.

Changes to Datix - Monday 16 May

   There will be two slight changes to the Datix reporter form (DIF1) from Monday 16 May. On top of that there is now a demo site, and more support for handlers/managers - please see the attached newsletter for all the information.     read more

To everyone on ward 2D: Thank-you for caring for my dying Dad.

The CHFT inbox recently received some glowing words from a family who have lost their 90-year-old father.      Elizabeth Collins, writes:     "My father was admitted to CRH late on 01/04/16 age 90 and very poorly. It was agreed he should be put on an end of life pathway the following morning and he died at 5 am on 07/04/16.  read more

RCTP - "I want to know what it all means" - good turnout at HRI for the first staff drop-in session

   Around 50 colleagues came along to the first HRI staff information drop-in session about proposed changes to health and community services yesterday. The programme driven by our CCGs is called Right Care, Time, Place and consultation runs until June 21.  read more

Praise for A&E & CCU.. from our staff nurse - and patient - Sara Hill

Staff nurse, Sara Hill, recently visited CHFT in the A&E and CCU departments at Calderdale Royal Hospital but this time to receive care rather than provide it.     Here is what she had to say about the 'amazing' staff who looked after her:     "I am a nurse (39 years old) who has recently been on the other side of the fence so to speak.  read more

Meet Angela Hope our new lead for Clinical skills and Simulation!

 Angela Hope has joined the Trust as lead for Clinical Skills and Simulation.     She will be working three days a week and will work cross site although her office base is in the Learning and Development Centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital.  read more

Summer childcare in Lindley

   Shape Lindley Summer club  - a not-for -profit organisation - is running a club starting from 25th July - 2nd September 2016 for children aged between 5 to 13-years-old with half and full days available.     Booking before the end of the month means there is a 10% discount. In June bookings will get discount for extra children.  read more
