Staff nurse, Kathryn Johnson, has retired after 30 years working at the Trust.     Her roles have included time spent working as a staff nurse at St Luke's Hospital in Huddersfield, alongside her time working at both HRI and CRH.

Legal services manager, Nathalie Jooty, is responsible for managing some legal affairs, clinical and non-clinical claims and inquests against CHFT. She joined us in February last year.  She was born and grew up in Huddersfield, her parents are both retired nurses and one of her two sisters works at CHFT.

Party time on Ward 5b

Ward 5b staff throw party after patient wanted to share her day with them

Colleagues on Ward 5b at CRH helped a patient celebrate her birthday yesterday (Weds 13 April) after she wanted them to share her 86th birthday celebrations.      Sister Amy Scholes from the ward told CHFT that their patient Mrs Lever had been on the ward for some months and had been on a long journey.

Our theatres team at HRI has reached the finals of the Examiner's Pride of Huddersfield awards.  They are in the running for the "Friend of the Year" award for all their support after their colleague Obe Morake was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  read more

Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) is a great way for patients to receive Intravenous (IV) antimicrobials in their own home, community or in an outpatient setting avoiding the need for inpatient care.     It’s intended for those who require IV therapy for moderate to severe infections but are otherwise well enough to be at home.  read more

Broaden your knowledge with R&D training and skills programmes

The R&D Department has been offering training for many years to NHS staff. Due to its popularity and demand the training has developed even further to cover a number of areas to reflect changes within NHS research and development. This has been acknowledged by Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber who continue to fund our programme each year.  read more

SSAFA Armed Forces concert - concessionary rates for CHFT colleagues

SSAFA (the oldest armed forces charity) has organised a concert at St Peter's Parish Church in Huddersfield to commemorate H.M. The Queen's 90th year.      The concert will be held on Saturday 7 May at 7.15pm. Tickets cost £10, though CHFT colleagues are being offered concessionary tickets at £8.  read more
