"If you were on Tripadvisor you'd get 5 stars" - praise for endoscopy at HRI!

Endoscopy at HRI was this week told the were "exemplary" or  "5*s if theywere on Tripadvisor", according to one patient.     She praised the whole care she received from the team, the environment and the communications throughout her appointment on Saturday.     Senior Sister, Susan Higo, said: "I feel very proud.

Respiratory team introduce Telehealth with praise from patients

Well done to our Respiratory team who have been working hard to implement Telehealth with the treatment of COPD.   Our team work predominantly in the community and at CRH, and have recently began using Telehealth in conjuction with specialist nursing support.

Junior doctors' plans for more industrial action in March and April

Junior doctors nationally have industrial action planned for three more dates. This time they will be for 48 hours. Again they are not affecting emergency care.     They are Wednesday March 9 -  Friday March 11; Wednesday April 6 - Friday April 8; and Tuesday April  26 - Thursday April 28. All from 8 am to 8 am.  read more

Changes to booking inductions for staff nurses, midwives and band 2/3 colleagues

   Staff Nurse, Midwife and Band 2/3  Trust Induction     We have launched an induction programme for staff nurses, midwives and band 2/3 staff members.  The staff nurse/midwife  induction and the band 2/3 induction run separately.     The staff nurse and midwife induction runs over five days.  read more

The big switch in Tissue Viability medication

Following work between the Area Prescribing Committee and Wound Management Committee, the Tissue Viability Nurses and Pharmacy, a decision has been made to change from Cavilon to MediDerma-S.     The Trust moved away from the use of Cavilon to MEDI DERMA-S from week commencing 22nd February.  read more

Costa call and collect service from Acre Mills

   The small Costa shop in Acre Mills is starting a new call and collect service. Orders can be placed between 8am and 4pm.       Colleagues can ring through then come and collect the items. The number is 07495017385.     **Unfortunately the Costa in the main HRI building is unable to offer this service.  read more

Results of the Staff Survey 2015

The results from this year's nationwide NHS Staff Survey 2015 have been published. Our Board will be viewing them this afternoon and they will be available on our intranet from Friday morning.     Around 800 of you were invited to give your feedback.  read more

Not long to our CQC visit - staff focus groups info....and a reminder to share what you do well with the team

With our CQC visit looming, this week's information is about the focus groups being held for colleagues during the inspection period (Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 March).     The hour-long focus groups will be held on the Wednesday and Thursday of that week - and colleagues are being invited to attend based on their job role.  read more
