Here's staff nurse Rachel Barrow -  7ft tall in the South Drive entrance!     Our new posters campaign is being rolled out across our Trust so expect to see more colleagues' smiley faces on a wall near you!      Rachel was one of several colleagues who  posed for new photos to update our Trust collection before Christmas.

"We couldn't have done anything more or anything better..." Thanks after Obe passed away

It is with great sadness we report that HRI theatre orderly Obe Morake sadly passed away and this week was buried in his homeland of South Africa.     Thanks to a huge fundraising effort from CHFT colleagues his family and three-year-old son Refentse were able to fly to the UK to spend Christmas with hime at his home in Holmfirth.

Fairness for all. Off to a great start as Owen leads our first BME forum

Lively, engaged and positive.     That was the verdict from our first focus group for black and minority ethnic (BME) colleagues to talk about working at CHFT. They were invited by our CEO Owen Williams to provide feedback from the frontline.

Beds Challenge - it's been the toughest yet

   This week CHFT has experienced some of the most challenging ever bed situations.      There have a been extra ward rounds by our doctors to identify those patients who are ready to leave us, more nursing input and our senior teams are meeting three times a day and talking to partners in community to ensure we are on top of the situation.  read more

Names and numbers! Website updates must be done by Feb 15

Names and phone numbers. They are the priority for our new look website.      February 15 is the deadline for all the changes to your service areas and we want it to be accurate and up to date for our patients and their families. We don't want to be signalling to numbers which don't work or colleagues who no longer work there.  read more

The Trust has established a dedicated Attendance Management Team to ensure that all colleagues are able to make the most effective contribution, individually and collectively, to improving the services that the Trust provides.     The new team (pictured) became operational in October 2015.  read more

Next Star Award - unveiled next week

   It's time to unveil our next Star Award. It's the second after ward clerk Nicola Lear and again, follows a tough challenges for our judges.     The certificate and £50 vouchers will be delivered by our CEO so a big thankyou to everyone who nominated. How Mike Culshaw and pharmacy are preparing for CQC - and how they need your help

Wellbeing challenge

Next week on February 1st, a new Wellbeing Challenge will launch and will be available to all staff.     The aim of the event is to encourage those involved to increase their physical activity levels through fun short and long term challenges.  read more
