   Did you know it costs about £1,200 an hour to run one of our theatres?     We have 17 theatres at the Trust and the running costs are obviously huge so, in these challenging times, it is vital we get the best use out of them for our patients.

Sandra Atkinson, Carol Sarr and the team from the Birth Centre at CRH

Sandra says farewell .

Sandra Atkinson from the Birth Centre at CRH retired on Monday after almost 20 years with the Trust.     She told CHFT Weekly "I'm really going to miss the people the most. I'll stay in touch and also try to be a lady that lunches with some of my old colleagues, whilst my husband does the gardening!".

Maria's going to be missed

Paediatrics Diabetes Specialist Nurse Maria Whiteley retires today (Thursday 27 August).     Maria has worked for CHFT for 23 years and retired for "the first time" two years ago, though she soon returned to work on a part-time basis.     Patient Advocate Jo Kitchen said: "I'll miss Maria because she's so dedicated to her role.  read more

An additional briefing session has been organised for colleagues who may have missed the previous ones due to holidays.  It will be on Tuesday, 1st  September 1.00 - 2.30 pm in the Lecture Theatre HRI.     read more

Desk like this? Clear it up please

A message from the cleaning services

The cleaning department are asking colleagues to keep their area as clear from clutter as possible.     Extra clutter around desks, windowsills and surfaces creates a bigger job as everything needs removing from surfaces before being cleaned. And then they have to replace everything back to where it came from.  read more

Policies and work information

Up to speed with new Glucometer

Across the Trust, training will be taking place at HRI (October) and CRH (November) to facilitate the roll out of the new glucometers. 

  • The new meter is the Roche Accu-Chek Inform II.
  • Installation of the new meters will take place from the end of September/October.

Pushing PRaMS - a new group for mums needing extra support

   Two specialist midwives are setting up a new service to help women with complex needs during their pregnancies.  Our Substance Misuse Kim Walsh who works for CHFT and Donna Kershaw (Calderdale Recovery Steps) are hosting the service called PRaMS - Postive Recovery and Midwife Support.  read more
