Toseef dreamed of winning a Star Award - and now he has!

Toseef Ahmed's Star Award was one with a difference... ..where he sprung a surprise on Owen!   Our Project Search intern (formerly on the Stroke Ward at CRH now on Ward 17 at HRI) thought his meeting with our CEO had been arranged so he could give Owen a box of Celebrations for being awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours List.

Meet the Improvers!  Our first graduates from CHFT’s ‘Work Together 2 Improve Quality Improvement training  have  just qualified.  They receive a nationally-recognised qualification in Quality Improvement from NHS Improvement.   The course builds on our popular Work Together Get Results training and is a recipe in The Cupboard.

Hello my name is…Luke Stockdale.   I moved to Huddersfield from Sheffield in 2011 with my then fiancée Kayleigh when we both got jobs as teachers.  Fast forward nine years we are now married and now have two children Thomas aged five and Emily aged three who keep us extremely busy.

Mum's first (and last) marathon for Children's Ward

Mum Anna Warrington has raised £2,200 for our Children's ward for helping her little girl Sophia who has epilepsy.  By the time Sophia was four months old she had spent a quarter of her life on the children’s ward at CRH.  read more

If you've had our 'flu jab elsewhere, then make sure we know.

Thanks to every colleague who has had their 'flu jab so far to help keep themself and our patients safe.  February is coming fast and this is a month where we have seen rises in the past.  A quick reminder to those who have had it outside CHFT (at their GP, midwife or community pharmacy) to tell us, so their vaccination can be included in our final figures.  read more

Being better at work. Sue Crossland opens up at our latest Schwartz Round tomorrow.

Our very own Dr Sue Crossland is the new President for the Society of Acute Medicine.  Sue has been deputy to our own Dr Nick Scriven for the past two years, and is already hitting the ground running. Comms asked Sue some questions about her role and also about why she thinks Schwartz Rounds are important for colleagues here at CHFT.  read more
