CHS hero Joe Wright gives a kidney... because he wanted to "help a bit!"

Big-hearted Engineer Joe Wright  was recently welcomed back to work after donating one of his kidneys...  in the hope of helping someone regain their life.  And now, he's already had a thank-you card (see attached) from the 22-year-old woman  recipient for "totally changing her life".

Chloe Ward's unique 100% rating.

Trainee Nursing Associate Chloe Ward - pictured in white -  has become the first person to be awarded 100% by her lecturer in her recent OSCE  (Objectve, Structured, Clinical Examiniation) in November.   This achievement has also been hailed on our CHuFT pages. CHeck them out if you haven't already.

YAS's Paul Nielsen thanks CHFT for his career.

An emergency care assistant from Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) has hailed our audiology teams after he was fitted with a state of the art wireless hearing device which has transformed his life.  Paul Nielsen has an Oticon Ponto 4 bone-anchored device fitted to his head behind his ear which picks up sound and sends vibrations through his skull to his cochlear.

Time to care. Ellen and Lindsay hail our new Nursing and Midwifery strategy.

After speaking to hundreds of colleagues we will be launching our new Nursing and Midwifery Strategy 2020/21:Time to Care, at the end of this month.  We're delighted to have Chief Nurse (North), NHS England/Improvement Margaret Kitching for the launch session on January 29th 1.30pm at CRH in the Lecture Theatre.

Bertha the meds trolley has become a bit of a superstar on the acute floor at HRI – and having her there means our patients can get their take home medicines in around 10 minutes.  read more
