Togetherness at Christmas. Special lunch laid on for patients.

Last week we held our first Togetherness Lunch and former and current patients were invited along to enjoy a Christmas meal, fun, a good chinwag and a sing-song with children from Beech Hill School in Halifax.

I've had worse days at work! Terriers spread Xmas joy

 It is always a pleasure to welcome Huddersfield Town players in to see and bring cheer to our younger patients.. and Angela Farrell too.  Our Operations Manager for Trauma and Orthpaedic ended up squeezed in  a lift alongisde Andy Booth and Co on their way up to the Children's Ward at HRI.

"Our engine room" - new Digital Operations Centre

Our new three-screen state-of-the-art Digital Operations Centre has opened at HRI.  The new centre supports the Bed Management Service working with the clinical teams and operational managers.  Our Patient Flow team, night matrons and Hospital Out of Hours Programme (HOOP) teams are based in the newly-created space.

When Toseef met Sal....his hero

This photo captures the moment our Project Search intern Toseef Ahmed met his hero Dr Sal Uka at CRH.  Paediatrician Sal cared for Toseef as a baby back in 2000 at Calderdale Royal so an emotional  "surprise, surprise" style reunion was arranged.  read more

He's all Wight! Fond farewell to Andrew Donegan who once called Errol Brown "you sexy thing".

   Andrew Donegan has left us after a 41-year NHS career in Huddersfield at an emotional farewell do ahead of a new "journey" to the Isle of Wight.  He said he felt "overwhelmed" at the turnout of colleagues past and present and after staging so many dos for other colleagues admitted it felt quite surreal to be attending his own farewell.  read more

"Double exceptional!" CHFT supporting the gift of life.

CHFT  has received  two "exceptional" verdicts for all our work at challenging times supporting families to achieve their loved one's final wishes.  The work ,by all involved and in our organ donation teams in such a sensitive areas, has won praise from NHS Blood and Transplant..  read more

Linked! CHFT and our GPs share patient records.

Another fab leap digitally as our local GPs are now seeing in real time what is happening to their patients at CHFT.  It's called Community View - where EPR and SystmOne link up - and it's already having a huge impact with Dr Dinesh Kumar, GP at Plane Trees Group Practice in Halifax.  read more
