Abbey "the handbag hunter" Wilson is a Star.

When a patient's wife lost her handbag, Ward 21's healthcare assistant Abbey Wilson started the search which took her around the ward and beyond....  In the end she called the bus company asking to join the search and at the same time negotiated the lady a free ride home as her bus pass was in the bag.  She then helped the lady cancel all her bank cards.

Stroke Team Christmas and Gary's big thanks!

It's been a top year for the Stroke Ward - with colleagues pulling together loads of fab activites for patients, and doing plenty of fund raising too. Here's a photo of the Christmas Tree Day that was held last week, which went down a storm with our patients and their families.

Should have gone to CHFT! Transforming eye care.

Our Ophthalmology team have been pioneering a new online portal to receive direct referrals from Community Optometrists leading to a faster service for patients.  The portal has been developed by Louise Corp, Karnesh Patel and Rubina Rahman in partnership with THIS web development colleagues, Andrew Pheasey and Rebecca Wooton.

Running and Pledging: our plans for 2020.

We held our latest Health and Wellbeing Hot House this week - very timely as we approach a new year and a new decade.  At the Hot House - at the HRI Learning Centre - colleagues were invited to sign a pledge to do something new for their own well-being and something for their team.  read more

We had a tremendous response to our 250th anniversary edition free draw.  We had more than 100 emails and on Monday, Information Analyst Alex King (from the office next to Comms) drew out two winners (see pic).  read more

Early May Day Bank Holiday change next year

Next year, the first Monday in May (usually a Bank Holiday) will be for commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day instead.  So, the first May Bank Holiday of the month will move to the following Friday - May 8.  read more
