A record-breaking five nominations for caring for his patients AND his colleagues!

Our Respiratory Ward Charge Nurse Leslie Dalley is our latest Star Award winner for way he cares  for his patients AND his colleagues.  He's such a good team member he was nominated a record-breaking five times  - by five different colleagues - in a single month! Usually, to get one is a cracking achievement so five is simply spectacular.

How many AirV02s can you get in a lift?

The Trust has now successfully completed the rollout of new devices called AirVO2 across both hospitals.  They were launched earlier this year at HRI and earlier this month were successfully rolled out at CRH.  The AirVO2 delivers a mix of high flow oxygen and air, it is required for our sickest patients when they require high levels of oxygen.

A colleague we will ALL miss. Farewell to pharmacy's Sandra McDonagh.

There was a terrific turnout for Pharmacy's Sandra McDonagh.  She started in 1975 as a Student Pharmacy Technician and had a career break to look after her three children then returned part-time and has worked here for 26 years.

Who'll be 5-a-side CHFT champs 2019?

CHFT's annual 5-a-side footie competition 2019 is looming - and teams are urged to sign up now.  It will be at 3GI, Clock Tower Lodge Mills Shaw, Shaw Lane, Halifax  HX3 9ET on Friday 4th October 6-8pm.  Ian Harrison, from Pharmacy, is the  tournament organiser so if you have a team or are interested in playing  contact him on ian.  read more


Recruitment Fair - October 12.Abigail Thackray says: Come and join us!

Our next recruitment fair is on Saturday 12th October. We are looking to recruit final year students and qualified staff, including Nurses, Midwives and Theatre Practitioners for Band 5 roles.  Here newly-qualifed A&E Staff Nurse Abigail Thackray, explains why, even though she was scared of blood when she was little, a family illness made her want to take up nursing.  read more

Dates to remember: Unsung Hero deadline, Macmillan Coffee morning and paediatric research trial.

There's only just over one week left to nominate your non-clinical colleagues for an Unsung Hero Award.  The national scheme launched here on August 1 and we're hoping for a fab turnout at the final in Manchester next year.  Every nominator and their nominee is invited to the gala night where the trophies are handed out.  read more

Dudwell Lane gas roadworks tomorrow and how to avoid cyclists next weekend.

Northern Gas has told us that tomorrow -  Friday 20th September  - they will be doing gas repairs close to the junction of Dudwell Lane outward close to the CRH Old Entrance.  It will not impact on access to the CRH site as it is just the piece of road past the old main entrance at the lights.  read more
