They met so long ago they were in black and white! Nurses' amazing reunion 45 years on.

Eight nurses who started their careers together on the very same day in 1974 have reunited - 45 years to the exact day they started training.  And to celebrate they recreated their very first day together in exactly the same line-up as the days of black and white. (top photo). Comms just love it.

Owen in the top 100 BAME business leaders announced today.

Our CEO Owen Williams has been named amongst the country's top 100 in a list of BAME Business leaders today.  And he's thanked his colleagues at CHFT as leadership "is never about one person."   The list is drawn up by Greenpark and the aim is to dispel the myth that diverse talent does not exist.

Matron Karen Melling has married her partner Mark Farrar and here are some lovely photos featuring some of her closest CHFT colleagues - now and then - sharing their happy day. Their reception was at the Moorlands Inn pub, Ogden, Halifax.

Fab fun but can they Candy Dance?. Here's the video.

Two Trusts down South threw down the Candy Dance challenge.... and on behalf of the North, CHFT replied big-style!    Around 50 colleagues shook their "thang" in the old Laundry Room at HRI and had a right laugh. On a twist of Working Together to get Results - they danced together as a team in matching t-shirts - to great effect.

Mel Langley and Mandy Stock are the first dietitians to qualify as Supplementary Prescribers at CHFT. They are part of a small but rapidly growing number of specialist dietitians choosing to extend their scope of practice in this way.  read more

Special toys thanks to Our League of Friends

Our League of Friends at CRH has kindly donated some money to the ENT OPD at CRH to create a play area and purchase some toys for all the children who attend the clinic.  They have bought toys which are interactive items to stimulate children.  read more

Happy 1st birthday CHS Ltd - and a one-year on survey. Tell them about your experience of their service

Calderdale and Huddersfield Solutions (CHS) celebrated its first birthday last week.  Their new MD Stuart Sugarman - standing and fifth on the left - attended the celebrations ahead of his officially starting with CHS at the end of this month.  read more

Occupational Health changes - immunisation records unavailable until 7th Oct

The Occupational Health service is undergoing a significant change by moving their IT to a new provider. The main impact will take place next week 16th September, when the team will be unable to answer phone calls. You may need to leave a message or email them.  Existing health records are being transferred to the new system over a period of three weeks.  read more

Could your children help us shape our services?

Paediatrics are excited at their new project - setting up a new Youth Forum to make sure ''the child's voice is heard.'' They're looking for young people aged between 10 and 19 from all backgrounds, whether they've been a patient at CHFT or not - all in the spirit of making things better for our young patients.  read more

Donations wanted for Children's Ward fundraiser

The event is due to be held on Sunday 29th September.  This is an event that is being hosted by Ravensprings Park Railway to raise funds for the Paediatric Ward CRH and our fundraising team will be there running stalls including tombolas, a bottle stall, raffle and face painting.  read more
