Lesley and Jason head next Big Brief - Weds Aug 5

Lesley Hill and Jason Eddleston will be heading up the next Big Brief next Wednesday.  The second in a new series of our face-to-face information sharing sessions will be held at 8am at HRI Lecture Theatre, and CRH Dining Room, and are aimed at bringing colleagues bang up-to-date with news from across the divisions.

"Busy and Scary" - Nick Scriven on his top new role

Our consultant in Acute Medicine, Nick Scriven, has been appointed to the prestigious position of president-elect on the Society of Acute Medicine.  Two years from now he will become the President of the organisation set up about 15 years ago and now representing 900 consultants, trainee doctors, nurses and allied health professionals nationwide working in the speciality.

Bergin's big day!

Vicki, our dietetic assistant, has recently completed a Higher Education Certificate in Nutritional Health from Leeds Beckett. (pictured)  It’s also a double for Vicki who has also been recognised with another award -  the  ‘Vitaflo Prize for Nutrition in Practice’.

Emma Livesley has moved into pastures new at Coventry Hospital as their Director of Operations.  Emma, our ADD for Dats & CWF, has been with us for eight years and received champagne, vouchers and flowers at a do yesterday.  She praised her "fantastic team" and said sticking together would see them through the challenges of the future.

Fake or bake - cake lovers' challenge

Sweet-toothed snackers are in for a treat at a Macmillan Coffee Morning fundraiser on the Maxillo-Facial Unit at HRI on Monday. (First floor Block1)  As part of the event from 11- 2 pm there will be a blind taste test to see if you know your home made from shop bought goodies.  There will also be a tombola to raise funds for Mouth Cancer Awareness Month in November.     read more

Butterfield's the best! Footie 5- a- side wrap-up.

The sun shone for the first time in CHFT memory for this year’s staff 5-a-side footie competition.  Held at Brooksbank School, Elland, as part of Men’s Health Week promotion,  the event is traditionally memorable for atrocious conditions – mainly driving rain –yet this year the weather took a turn for the better.  read more

WEST YORKSHIRE TO LEAD NHS INTO NEW ERA OF URGENT CARE  NHS England Chief Executive Simon Stevens and the NHS Five Year Forward View partners have announced  eight new vanguards that will launch the transformation of urgent and emergency care for more than nine million people.  read more

NHS Supply Chain integration with i-Proc

From 7th September 2015 Procurement and Supplies will be integrating the NHS Supply  Chain (NHSSC) catalogue into i-Proc to improve and streamline our ordering processes.  What does this mean as a user?? 

  • i-Proc will be the only ordering system.
  • One login and user name for ordering.
  • No need to remember which system to use between stock and non stock.

Award winning Acre Mills for AGM 2015

Our award-winning Acre Mills Outpatients Centre will be the venue for this year's AGM and Membership Councillors AGM on Thursday, September 17th from 5pm.  Divisions will be showcasing their plans for the year ahead.  read more

Michelle made it to Monte Carlo

Congrats to F&SS's Michelle Walshaw - fresh back from Monte Carlo with her banger intact.  Michelle and hubbie Ian raised £850 for their charities - stroke and Kacie-Mai wheelchair fund. And their £200 1997 Honda Accord made it all the way back without a single breakdown.  read more
