We heart Ed the new HRI gardener!

Edward Clarke has joined the gardening team at HRI. Together with David Knapton he has created the new heart-shaped Organ Donation memorial garden on North Drive and brightened up other sites around HRI. Jammal Mohammed, says:  "Ed is very motivated along with David Knapton and, in my view, they have made our site brighter and more welcoming.

Clare McArthur retires after 42 years

Sister Clare McArthur worked her last, of many hundreds of shifts, on the Intensive Care Unit at the Calderdale Royal Hospital today. She started her nursing career in 1977 with her training at the Calderdale School of Nursing.

Old Laundry, South Drive, HRI.  The venue has been announced for Sept 10th!   The venue has been confirmed for our dance-athon which is just 13 days away on Sept 10 at 1pm. We're holding it indoors in case the weather's not so good.

Meet Rosie and Sally - our new staff governors.

Here's Rosie Hoggart, left, with Sally Robertshaw, our two new staff governors and a very big welcome to them!  Rosie is a community midwife and Sally is a clinical lead physiotherapist.  They have joined CHFT's Council of Governors after this summer's elections.

Ready, Steady, Go - how we're helping youngsters face their treatments.

We are working towards introducing Ready, Steady, Go - a transition tool to be introduced for children and young people who access neuro-disability clinics.  And last week the national team from NHS Improvement (NHSI) came to see what we've been doing, before we go to London in October to take part in a celebratory event.  read more

Pharmacy changes on Sept 1: New fridge monitoring temperature forms and recycling changes

Our new fridge monitoring forms are quicker to complete and easier to use - and they should be used from this Sunday 1st September. Pharmacy will be delivering them from today (Thursday).  read more

The future of Vascular Care in West Yorkshire - NHSE consultation underway.

Yesterday  NHS England  (Weds Aug 28) started a  public consultation into how specialist vascular services will be provided in West Yorkshire in the future.  It is proposed to create two centres for complex vascular care (where a patient requires a hospital stay).  read more
