Surprise farewell for much loved Staff Nurse Carolyn Walker

Staff Nurse Carolyn Walker was completely shocked when she arrived for a wedding anniversary meal - which turned out to be a huge surprise party thrown by her  colleagues.  Carolyn worked on the orthopaedic outpatients department for 22 years and was in sister Jane Cash's words "an amazing nurse".

The Apprenticeship Team are currently celebrating the outcome of their successful Ofsted Monitoring Visit.  As an Employer Provider, the team bring valuable income into the Trust as well as striving to deliver quality apprenticeships to our clinical apprentices.  read more

Our Huddersfield Children’s Speech and Language Therapy team recently conducted an audit of their Hanen* - More Than Words parent training courses, and it's clear the training is having a huge impact on how parents communicate with their children.  read more

HRI radiographer Naomi Wareham and her partner Andre are celebrating the birth of their little boy Reagan and they wanted to give a huge shout out to everyone on the HRI Birth Centre for the care they all received.  First child Reagan (Celtic for Little Ruler) was born on 26th July in what midwives called a “textbook birth”.  read more

New training for managers - all the ideas from our latest Hot House

Our latest Hot House was held earlier this week with the aim of drawing up a new trustwide Essentials Training programme for Managers .  The new programme will feature modules including: You as manager; Managing people; Managing change and Managing money.  read more

It might be summer holiday season - but we're already gearing up to fight the flu bug.

We are looking for flu buddies to support our 'Flu immunisers for this year's campaign.  Being protected isn’t just about giving or having the jab.  Our immunisers need support with helping people to understand the campaign, myth busting, and recording when each jab has been given.  read more

Butterfly scheme's founder heading to CHFT

   The founder of the Butterfly Scheme promoting better care for dementia patients  is heading to CHFT.  Barbara Hodkinson MBE will be visiting the Trust on the 25 and 26 September to provide Butterfly training for staff  at the Trust.  read more
