Catch that baby! HRI colleagues to the rescue as car park baby Joseph arrives early.

A family has hailed the emergency teamwork at HRI after their baby boy was born in the car park after a very rapid labour turned to a birth.  Our Sexual Health Nurse, Lesley Pither and midwives Jessica Craner and Toni Patchitt ended up in tears of joy after the trauma on the tarmac.

Incredible! First shared Unicef award in the country for CHFT and Locala ....

We're celebrating after scooping the first  shared UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative Gold assessment award in the country.  What's unique is it is a shared award with health visitors reflecting the continuing support we offer our new mums both in hospital and once they have returned home.

Family's thanks to Community Palliative Care Team

A family has donated a cheque to the Community Specialist Palliative Care team for the supporting them through a very difficult time.  Janet Shorrocks, said the cheque was in appreciation of the "help and kindness"  care they gave her husband in his final hours.  read more

This week the TV news cameras descended on HRI following the announcement that West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership will receive £12m for a state-of-the-art pathology system across the patch.  read more

Andrea's an inspiration!

Andrea Waite works for the District Nurse service as a community staff nurse and is part of the North Hub and work with Plane Trees District nurses.  Like many people she has been through some tough times and thanks her team  at work for all the support they have given her and she also reckons a return to acting has also been key to recovering from troubling times.  read more

Our cleaning services team at HRI have just heard the great news they've attained re-certification with Honours to the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) criteria.  read more

Nursing and midwifery survey

Our  new Director of Nursing, Ellen Armistead is seeking the views of nurses and midwives for their aspirations here at CHFT as she looks to review the nursing and midwifery strategy.  The survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete and is anonymous.  It asks for your ambitions and for your ideas on how CHFT could help you achieve them.  read more

Running out of holidays? You could always "buy" leave to see you through the year

Our annual leave purchase scheme gives colleagues the option to acquire up to 10 days additional annual leave each in a year (pro-rata for part time employees)  which is great for colleagues who may have used their holidays up for one reason or another.  read more

Fitness Fusion returns to HRI on Tuesdays - have fun and get fit

Our fun dance and exercise sessions  are back!  Fitness Fusion is  a mixture of StreetFIT, Dancercise, Zumba and aerobics and it restarts at HRI on Tuesday.  read more
