Pivotal for PACS - team of four collect Star Award for supporting radiology switchover.

A team of four has been hailed CHFT Star Award winners for steering and supporting the Trust through the new PACS system for radiology.  Dave Armitage, Mark Williams, Ming Ling and Sarah Wilson*, were stunned when CEO Owen Williams appeared in a meeting which they thought involved NHS England.

We're "excited and privileged" to be chosen to launch national Unsung Hero Awards

t's not just Yorkshire Day we're celebrating on Thursday 1st August - it's also when our Trust becomes the national (yes - national!) face of the 6th annual Unsung Hero Awards. The awards are being launched right here at CHFT and to say we're excited is an understatement...and we're looking for colleagues to get involved on launch day.

Streaks ahead.. in the false tan stakes. Natasha Vardon's charity efforts in memory of her best friend.

The devastating loss of her best friend of 30 years set Trust HQ's Natasha Vardon some real challenges including runs, peaks and mud!  This Saturday she's doing the Ullswater Mighty Hike - 26 miles around the lake edge - after having already completed a 10k Tough Mudder and epic Yorkshire Three Peaks.

It's all rubbish but Emma Clarke loves her job turning us green.

Emma  Clarke started as Environment Manager at CHS Ltd in May, and is responsible for waste, energy, water and sustainable development issues for the Trust, which is a busy role. Emma is based in CHS Estates at HRI, but works across the whole Trust. Her background is in waste having worked for central Government and two waste consultancies before coming to CHS.

Singing sessions bringing joy to CHFT Staff Choir dates released

Volunteers from the Alzheimer's Society have been visiting the Butterfly Lounge at HRI to provide an interactive singing session called Singing for the Brain - and we managed to catch a snap shot of them in action on film.  read more

Bite-sized learning: Changing and recording filters - nebulizer compressors

This week we're sharing best practice on nebulizer compressors - namely checking them over, changing them monthly and the importance of documenting the date of the change. If filters aren't checked and changed regularly there is a risk patients could develop an infection.  read more
