Our Catering teams can be celebrating today following the publication of the 2018 Inpatient Report.  Our food rating has shown the biggest improvement of all categories and is a reflection of all the hard work from our teams behind the scenes in the kitchens, the menu and choices provided and the ward delivery services.

Our Discharge Team -  and all the care and working with healthcare partners - has again been highly rated in the Inpatient Survey.  The team's efforts are again in the "better than most other Trusts" category.

I want to live longer for my children. Debi collects top Diabetes award.

Emotions ran high this week as Senior Administrator, Debi Johnson was presented with an Inspire award from Diabetes UK.  Her selfless, volunteer work in spreading awareness in the community has scooped her the award for Campaigning and Influencing.

All of Me loves..... a CHFT double wedding.

HRI Day Surgery was where Vicky Sillitoe and Dave Power first met.  They started as friends and colleagues and this summer got married. CHFT Weekly loves a wedding - especially when both work here and we're delighted they were willing to share their best moments from their big day with CHFT colleagues.  read more

The In-patient therapy teams move hailed a "fantastic platform"

The In-patient Therapy Teams transferred into the newly-formed Community Healthcare Division at the start of this month.   They comprise of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Support Staff from across both the CRH & HRI sites.  read more

Bake sales next week for Help the Heroes

Next Wednesday 26th June is Armed Forces Reserves Day.  To celebrate, and link in with our work supporting ex-service personnel as part of our committment to the Armed Forces Covenent, the Recruitment Team and Surgical Division are holding two bake sales.  read more

PACES course a big hit again - thanks to all

CHFT takes its educational role seriously. One of its ongoing educational commitments is the Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills (PACES) course. It is a regional course for Yorkshire and Humber trainees held annually at CHFT.  read more

SEARCH awards night

In July 2018 a cohort of young adults started the project SEARCH program at the Calderdale Royal Hospital and they have now celebrated their graduation.  read more

Wat-er achievement! HPS work together to complete major transformation.

A massive team effort from everyone at Huddersfield Pharmacy Specials (HPS) - across the car park from Acre Mills - has meant the plant has a greater capacity for producing medicines.  Everyone in the team has been thanked as HPS celebrated the development with a "grand opening".  read more

Give us your vote! Staff Governor elections 2019.

Voting is now underway to find a new governor for two groups of colleagues:  1 nurses/midwives and 2  AHP/healthcare scientists/pharmacists.  In both groups there are three choices. All have submitted their biographies and information explaining why they want to be a Governor.  read more

Kim's care for "Jenny" - her 724 cart. Do you look after yours?

It is very important our 724 carts are kept in top working order in case EPR has issues and we temporarily need to go back to paper.  Ward clerk, Kim Bahadori from Ward 12 at HRI, gives her cart - called Jenny - a daily healthcheck making sure she’s plugged in, fully charged and ready to go.  read more

Awareness Weeks: Gotta hand it to Maureen and Insulin Awareness.

Maureen Reid  - domestic for Day Surgery at HRI - has won the first prize a £50 TKMaxx voucher for entering this year's word-search competition during our Hand Hygiene Awareness week..  It featured 48 words/phrases connected to hand hygiene safety and was open to all members of staff including staff of CHS.  read more
