   It's seven years this week since we welcomed our CEO Owen Williams to  the CHFT family.  It's been a time of real change, achievement and development for the Trust as we strive the provide the very best compassionate care for our patients and their families and he hails his family  - pictured  - for being "everything" to him.

Nursing then and now - Angie Salmons' fond lookback at her 30 years

We've struck gold with these reminiscences from Angie Salmons, now a Sister on Ward 3,  who is celebrating 30 years a nurse.   Her colleagues love her so much they celebrated by putting up her pictures from yesteryear  with balloons on the Children's Assessment and had cake and flowers delivered to the ward for her.

Megan Cleary has been nominated as the Link HCA for In-DSEP (In-patient diabetes structured education programme) here at CHFT.  This is an innovative role which will be launched during Insulin Awareness week next week.  read more

A family came into HRI to make a moving presentation in memory of a baby they lost many years ago.  Jonathan Sykes, his sister Chrissy and his mother Margery Fairbank presented £5k for our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).   read more

"When you think Appointment Centre/Clinic Admin you think Lida Brambles."  That quote came from her colleague Fatima Saleem who wanted to shout out about Lida's 40 Years at the Trust as she is so special and loved by her team.  read more

How we've been helping the taxman - and sharing info with eye patients

Our Eye clinic team are proud to have hosted an event in collaboration with the Shipley HMRC design team and The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) to bring patients, designers for accessible IT systems, clinicians and eye care partners together.  read more

Bite-sized learning - Ordering Controlled Drugs

An audit of Controlled Drugs has found some colleagues are ordering them and they have not been authorised to do so. If orders are not completed correctly, Pharmacy will not be able to dispense them.  read more

Improved information about anticipatory medicines

Following feedback, a new leaflet about anticipatory medicines has been written to answer questions from patients who are at the end of their lives and their families.  The aim is to help them once they have been discharged from hospital and are on prescribed medication at home.  read more

At our first Junior Doctors' awards Neeraj Bhasin - the co-host in sunspecs - was jokingly advised " not to give up the day job".  And we're glad he doesn't as it means he will be one of the speakers at our next Schwartz Round onThursday!.  read more
