Care Closer to Home Contract

As you will have read in Owen’s Trust-wide email yesterday, the two CCGs in Kirklees have formally announced the award of the Care Closer to Home (CC2H) contract to Locala, in partnership with South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust.

Acre Mills wins international award

Our new outpatients centre has won an international award from Green Apple.  Acre Mills beat off stiff competition from around the world and won the NHS and Health Sector National Silver Winner 2015.  The Green Apple Environment  Awards were established in 1994 as an annual campaign to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world.

Andy Cross

Nothing negative about X-ray fund raising

CRH Radiographer Andy Cross and his friends have now raised more than £6,000 including almost £1,700 amassed by his Genevan friends who kindly donated to the charity.  This means that enough money has been raised to buy two Vapotherm machines for the Special Care Baby Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital, rather than the one that they were aiming for.

Lorraine's leaving

Lorraine Schofield is leaving the Trust after approximately 40 years!  She has worked in various departments within the Trust, but for the past few years she has worked in the patient flow office as a patient flow co-ordinator.  Lorraine’s farewell party was held on the 6th July, and her farewell gifts were jewellery, flowers and champagne.

Debbie Dessi's Distinction

Debbie Dessi, Student Pharmacy Technician, recently completed her Pharmacy Advanced (L3) Apprenticeship – Pharmacy Technicians Advanced Apprenticeships through Bradford College.     The two year course combines a BTEC and a level 3 NVQ, but Debbie has also been working in the Pharmacy at HRI.  read more

Remembering Baby Service this Sunday

The Chaplaincy at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is partnering with the Stilbirth and Neonatal Death Service (SANDS) to hold a remembrance service for anyone affected by baby loss during pregnancy or shortly afterwards.     The service will be held in the grounds of Acre House, Acre Street Lindley on Sunday 12th July at 3pm.  read more

Long service applications accepted all year-round

Many people dedicate their working lives to public service and the care of others.  Here at CHFT we like to formally recognise and acknowledge this important commitment.  Colleagues who have completed either 25 or 40 years’ service in the NHS qualify for a long service award.  read more

Farewell Emma

Emma Livesley, Assistant Divisional Director for Family and Specialist Services (FSS), will be leaving the Trust for pastures new at the end of the month.  Rob Aitchison will provide interim cover as Acting Assistant Divisional Director for FSS for a period of six months, which commenced on 1 July 2015.  The permanent ADD post will be advertised going forward.  read more
