Hello My Name Is Helen Jones... she's an inspiration and here to support our cancer patients

She's a vicar's wife who's had breast cancer, lost her Mum to cancer  and is now supporting our patients as our new manager in our Macmillan Info centres. Mum-of-two Helen Jones says: "It is a privilege to go home every day knowing you have made a difference to someone affected by cancer."  Hello my name is…Helen Jones.

"Gobsmacked!" Well done Sarah Wilson - a British Journal of Nursing finalist

Lymphoedema nurse Sarah Wilson is through to the finals of the British Journal of Nursing awards in the category of Chronic Oedema Nurse of the year.  She was nominated and among the top three in the country for her work developing the lymphoedema service.

Nursery sing song cheers Ward 20's patients

   The team on Ward 20 were inspired by a hit TV show to bring some extra joy to their ward.  They followed the lead of the Channel 4 series 'Old Peoples Home for 4 year olds' and surprised their patients with an invitation to some tots from Spring Cottage Children's Place Nursery.  read more

Learn about Men's Mental Health through a moving performance. Apply now

   In order to raise awareness of the difficulties and challenges men face in discussing mental health issues, we have arranged for a group called 'Men's Talk' to deliver a 30 minute performance, followed by 30 minute Q&A about their experiences of mental health issues.  read more

So you want to be a doctor? CHFT supporting medics of the future.

Our taster day for budding medics proved so popular this year, we had to double the spaces.  So big thanks to all our consultants from all specialities, GP trainees, medical students, and of course our Medical Education Team who supported the event for 40 local students.  read more

More support for EU colleagues ahead of Brexit deadline

With Brexit 36 days away the Trust has contacted all our EU  colleagues offering further reassurances, advice and support.  The letter encourages our EU colleagues to apply for EU Settlement status and advice and support and information about how to do it.  There is also information  and reassurance about professional health registration.  read more

A629 improvements: have your say

Calderdale Council has contacted us asking your our views on their planned imporvements to the A629  - the main road Halifax to Huddersfield.  They are holding son upcoming engagement that we have planned for our West Yorkshire-plus Transport Fund scheme.  read more

Bite-sized Learning: New SOP for Tenotomy.

We now have a new a Standard Operating Procedure for Tenotomy (tendon release)  as a recent case made highlighted one was needed.  During a procedure on a baby no anaesthetic cream was administered and the baby's mother felt felt it would have helped..  read more
