"I feel hugely proud to be part of this team" - a massive thank you from our Board

Our Executive Board are extending a really big thank you to colleagues for their efforts over the past months. Last week they met to discuss our December performance and were impressed with many of our performance indicators, especially in terms of referral to treatment and diagnosing potential cancer. Our position for Clostridium difficile (CDiff) was also excellent.

A particular call went out to all colleagues in A&E and across all specialties who have helped secure patient flow, as, whilst our Emergency Care Standard is not at 95%, we continue to deliver performance in the top 25 of hospitals nationally continuing to provide the best service we can for our patients.

Chief Operating Officer, Helen Barker, said: “When you look at how the NHS is coping nationally, we should be incredibly proud of how well we are doing to provide safe, compassionate care to our patients and provide a better working environment for our colleagues.

“Our performance, particularly in Emergency Care, planned waiting lists and in diagnosing and treating patients with suspected cancer, is amazing.  I know that colleagues across the Trust are going the extra mile for patients, but also for each other and I feel hugely proud to be part of this team”.

“There is still a lot of ‘winter’ left to go through, but we are in a good position and I want to say a big thank you to everyone for the way they pull together so well, whatever the situation.”

We have a set of four thank you postcards for when colleagues or our partners have done something you feel deserves recognition in their role.

They may have really demonstrated one of our four pillars, or have simply wowed you with their initiative or attitude.

Anyone can send a card. The cards are blank on the reverse, so you can add your own personal message about why you’re sending your note.

If you'd like a set of cards you can pick them up at the security desk at CRH, or from Amber Fox in Trust Offices at HRI. Or failing that please get in touch with communications at chft@cht.nhs.uk
