Trainee Associate Nurse Chloe Ward has hailed all her training at HRI after she helped revive a man who had collapsed at her gym.  He was running on the treadmill at Pure Gym, Halifax, and banged his head in the fall which left him with no pulse and unresponsive.

Trio of Exemplar-y performances

There's triple celebrations at the moment for HRI wards 4 - elderly care, and 19 and 21-  our trauma and orthopaedic wards. All three have recently achieved silver Exemplar ward accreditation*.

Michelle Speight wanted to be an angel - a Charlie's Angel.

Her Granny is her hero and aged 8, she wanted to be a Charlie's Angel.  Michelle Speight is one of our excellent colorectal specialist care nurse team  who provide terriific support for our patients and their families. Every year, they go the extra mile and host an event with equipment-providers to give them further support.

Syringe Drivers: important reminder of changes

The Aseptic Units no longer produce syringe drivers containing one drug, and from Friday 15th February they will stop producing all syringe drivers.   read more

Bite-sized learning - what equipment does your patient need on discharge?

Patients at high risk of developing pressure damage, or those with existing damage need the right equipment on discharge to avoid further skin deterioration when they get home. We're asking colleagues to think: If they need it here, do they need it at home?  read more
