Double Discharge Delight: Clingo family go home a foursome

District Nurse Naomi Clingo and husband Kyle left our Trust last week with two special reasons to be very grateful... and as a family of four.  She'd had little Dylan on the Birth Centre and her toddler son, Douglas, was able to leave after three weeks with a huge pot on his leg on the children's ward.

Liz McCormick's retirement on 8d.

Colleagues said farewell to Liz McCormick at the end of a nursing career spanning more than 40 years.  She started as a 16-year-old cadet and hit the Courier headlines (on a quiet news day) when there was a shortage of collar studs for their uniform starched collars.

Azizen's Big Win - and she nearly sent her apologies!

Our HR Assistant Director, Azizen Khan collected an unexpected award at an event celebrating the contribution of Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) colleagues in the NHS.

Theatres are a cut above the rest. They're five-a-side champs for 2018

Theatres were the winners of our annual colleagues' 5-a-side football tournament.  Richard Topham scrambled together a last-minute team and they beat the Pharmacy team 4-1 in the event staged by our Occupational Health Team to celebrate Men's Health Week.

Hannah Crowther - following in her mum's NHS footsteps.

Hannah Crowther is our latest colleague to give the NHS a big birthday shout-out in its 70th year.   Our outpatients receptionist - follows her mum Carol Crowther (formerly Day Surgery now in Qatar) and brother into the NHS and will be the face on all CHFT screensavers for the next week.  read more

78% - they're the ones to beat! Our frontlines aiming to be flu-free this winter.

Great news as almost 47% of frontline colleagues are vaccinated against 'flu - up around 10% on this time last year after a flu-rious start to the campaign! And both MAU at HRI and the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at CRH are currently steaming ahead with 78% of colleagues vaccinated. The Medical Divsion are top of the table, with more than 50% of their colleagues protected.  read more

Shorter Mindfulness sessions - book now for November's sessions

Our new Mindfulness for Busy People sessions are an addition to our programme of mindfulness sessions and courses. At just 90 minutes long you'll get some easy to use techniques to help you, and it would be a good taster session too.  read more
