The Legend has Retired! Tears flow at "grandma" Cath MacKenzie's farewell

It was an emotional day when CHFT legend and Patient Flow coordinator Cath MacKenzie retired aged 68 and after 40 years in the Trust.  Known as "Catherine Elizabeth" or "Mother" she's renowned for being "caring, kind and loyal".

Jenny scoops extra day off as jab numbers near 2000

Our HCA Jenny McGuire is the first CHFT colleague to scoop an extra day off after having her winter flu jab for 2018.  Jenny, from ward 8 at HRI, went into the draw along with all the other colleagues who have had their jab so far (draws take place each Weds) to win a day's annual leave.

Even mistakes are yummy! Macmillan Coffee Mornings across CHFT.

More than £200 raised for Macmillan was the icing on the cake for baker Bronagh Davis.  Our validation clerk put on a fab spread - including an amazing raffle - to support the charity as it had been so supportive during her Grandad's illness.  read more

Thanks for Baksho's care and support for her family.

The family of a long-serving chaplaincy volunteer  who died from cancer in August have presented a cheque as a thankyou for her care.  Baksho  Kaur worked for many years alongside her husband Harbinder, volunteering to provide spiritual support as part of CHFT chaplaincy team.  read more

It's Never Too Late: how exercise for the elderly is preventing falls

Waste situation: update and email for enquiries

Bite sized learning - Easy read leaflets help our patients with learning disabilities

Did you know we have a set of easy read Friends and Family Test cards for patients with learning disabilities? Some of these patients struggle with the normal FFT cards, so this version has pictures and symbols to make it simpler for them to feedback about the services and care they've received.  read more

Six key national ESR assessments are changing soon. If you are mid-way through training, or non-compliant in them, it will be simpler for you to complete them as soon as possible.  read more

Oct 22 - new Women's Unit on Ward 4s at CRH

From Monday, October 22, our new Women's Unit  at CRH will be up and running.  Maternity Services at CHFT are relocating the Antenatal and Postnatal wards from ward 9 and ward 1D.  read more

Emergency practice event at HRI on Saturday, and a reminder about car parking

On Saturday, the bottom part of the hospital site at HRI is going to be used for a Major Hazmat incident involving Police, Fire and Ambulance.  read more
