World RL star Amy Hardcastle joins a new team - ED at CRH

One of the world's top women rugby league players has been welcomed into the ED team at CRH.  Amy Hardcastle - the only northern hemisphere player in the world top 10 - joined us as a healthcare assistant in June.  She scored the best try in the last World Cup in Australia last year and last weekend lifted the Challenge Cup plate with Bradford Bulls scoring twice.

Our beach-themed hothouse event with the focus on Well-being at Work was a real hit.  The idea was the get colleagues from all areas together at the Learning Centre at HRI to share experiences from their lives at CHFT and to find out what's good and what could be better.

Bye Bye Ball - farewell to our trainees.

CHFT has staged its first Leavers' Annual Ball.  It was held at Leeds Crowne Plaza to say farewell to our junior doctors and was attended by 40 trainees and some consultants.  Dr  Mansoor Ali, pictured, said: " It was open to all our trainees. GP, FY1, FY2, and some of their course tutors went along.  read more

Well done to our Our End of Life champions

Massive congratulations to our first cohort of End of Life Care (eolc) champions who have completed their education programme.  The champions programme has been developed and taught in collaboration with Overgate Hospice for our community nurses. The aim now is for the champions to help support their teams with eolc patients and up skill and support colleagues, patients and families.  read more

Immunizer drop-ins

TThe Trust has three flu immunizer training days left to ensure our campaign for this coming winter is best placed to face the challenges of protecting all staff.  These sessions are for prospective new immunizers and to update previous/existing immunizers.  These are as follows starting with one later today.  read more

In this section we have included updates on a few issues from this week.  * The Trust and our colleagues in the CCGs, NHS England and NHS Improvement are due to report back to the Secretary of State tomorrow on progress with reconfiguration proposals. Three weeks to Calderdale and Huddersfield Solutions

   Three weeks to go to the arrival of our new Calderdale and Huddersfield Solutions (CHS) - our new wholly-owned subsidiary.  Staff have been voting for a logo for the new organisation and the results of this will be revealed shortly.  We have also been ordering new CHS signage to be in place ready for the go-live in September.  read more

Casualties wanted for emergency training incidents

We recently helped out our West Yorkshire emergency partners by offering a venue on our HRI site for a simulated terrorist training exercise.  Colleagues from the ambulance, police and fire attended an "incident" at our now out-of-use Learning Centre at the bottom of South Drive.  read more
