Roundabout rescue wins Emily our Star Award

Ward 19's Emily Pawson is our latest Star Award winner after a dramatic early morning incident at Ainley Top when she spotted a teenager in distress.  The girl was injured and when Emily spotted her driving home from her night shift she wanted to stop..... but couldn't.

In a recent on-line poll to find the  country's best healthcare modernisers at the forefront of the digital revolution, our Jackie Murphy topped the lot.  She won the Chief Nurse category in the Digital Health Awards 2018 and Mandy Griffin collected her award on her behalf as Jackie was on holiday - and handed it over atTrust HQ at HRI.

ICU's Vicki and Joanne bag Data Quality Award

Intensive Care Sisters Joanne Walker and Vicki Scurrah, have been collating data for research and audit for the Intensive Care and National Audit and Research (ICNARC) which is also used by 95% of the  ICU units in the country so all the data can be compared.

Our Trust has been recognised against the Investors in People  (IIP) Standard since 2001  - and this year's assessment is about to start.  Last time, we achieved a Bronze and now  we've got Silver in our sights especially after achieving a CQC Good rating in June.  read more
