Star Award winner Ruth Walker tells consultants what to do. Oh yes she does.

Staff nurse Ruth Walker was recently surprised by Chief Exec Owen with a Star Award. And as soon as she saw him she was shaking with nerves.  Owen said " You've been described as the stalwart of ENT by Catherine Hawkes. All your hard work has been noted, especially during the CQC inspection and the support you give to the consultants in the department.

We've had our own mini competitions running throughout the World Cup, and the best dressed area will be judged on Monday - so leave your decs up until then. And Pathology and Surgery are poised for the final showdown on Saturday as their teams France and Croatia play in the last match of the tournament.

Loud, noisy and totally joyous!

Hundreds of mums, dad, babies and youngsters from across West Yorkshire shared the fun at the annual party for babies born after care with Yorkshire Fertility (YF).  It was held at Northbridge Leisure centre, Halifax, and attended by the specialist doctors and nurses from the YF team.  read more

Long Service awards for Carol Gill - hailed once a leader always a leader.

Carol Gill was presented with her Long Service award at a meeting of divisional colleagues who hailed her leadership qualities.   It was presented at CHFT because Carol moved from Airedale in 2015 and had not yet been recognised as a long service recipient.  read more

Maternity EPR - so impressive NHS digital have allocated us funding for more improvements

Maternity EPR at CHFT has just celebrated its 3rd birthday. It's been a great three years - with further improvements due soon so women will be able to access their own maternity health records.  read more

Indian orthopaedic surgeons event at Cedar Court

The 20th Annual conference of the British Indian Orthopaedic Society (BIOS) was held at the Cedar Court hotel in Huddersfield at the end of June.  Five years ago Huddersfield hosted the same event and it was a big success.  read more

Dr S Ting was chuffed to bits with his first ever tombola win (we're loving his colleague's smirk in the background! Pic top right)  His ticket was first out of the hat in a fundraiser organised by healthcare assistant Sallie Wood-Fowler to raise funds for the charity MIND.  read more

'Master of ceremonies' Gillian Holsey retires

Gillian started as a student radiographer in September 1976 and qualified in 1979. She went onto become and Advanced Practitioner Radiographer in Breast Imaging.    She spent her whole career with the Trust.  read more

ESR use is on the up...and Manager Self-Service is taking off too.

Since the new ESR portal was launched last September, almost 92 per cent of colleagues have used it to look at their payslips, access their training requirements or record absence. As part of this, a new Manager Self-Service element is being rolled-out – and the ESR team are asking managers to feedback in a short survey.  read more
