Trust HQ legend Kathy Bray retires after nearly 40 years - and best wishes to Juliette Cosgrove

Last week's Board was the opportunity to say farewell to trust HQ legend Kathy Bray after nearly 40 years at the Trust and best wishes to . Juliette Cosgrove as she leaves us for pastures new.  Owen hailed Kathy as "one of my two surrogate mums".

10th birthday and nearly 5,000 births. "One big happy family"

Ten years and 4,984 Huddersfield born babies!  Our Birth Centre enjoyed a party to mark a decade since it opened at HRI.  Parents from the down the years were invited back in to join staff for a celebration. One mum had had three out of four youngsters with us and the party came after a night where we had had four births.  See the new mums with Carol Sarr.

National Network Day - celebrating our BAME group

   In support of National Networks Day yesterday, our Trust was promoting the work done by our BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethinc) group so far and encouraging other colleagues to get involved to make a difference.  read more

New support group for our laryngectomy patients

   We have recently set up a new group for laryngectomy patients providing holistic support. It held its latest meeting this week and brings patients and  our staff coming together to share experiences.  Here's more about it.  read more

Sue Naughton - former district nurse joins chaplaincy

More than 20 years after a short placement in the HRI Chaplaincy from Huddersfield Uni, Sue Naughton is now licensed to minister at CHFT.  Sue, pictured with her grandson George,  qualified as a nurse in 1980 but her love of the ministry has brought her full circle back to CHFT.  read more

But for some patients, particularly those with unstable fractures, it’s vital in the healing process – and shouldn’t be changed without seeking advice. Reminder: our confidential waste contractor and how to contact them

Our confidential waste contractor changed in January and we now use U-Shred.  They have apologised at the speed at which they have rebranded the confidential waste bins - this will be complete by the end of the month. If you need to contact them please call 0161 864 4466 - please don't call our previous contractor Shredall as they no longer provide a service.  read more
