Brilliant bed teams hit 1,500 in a month

   Undoubtedly, one of the most successful outcomes from our two Perfect Weeks was the introduction of the new Bed Teams. The weeks in December and January were aimed at finding out how we can improve our care pathways to make them smoother, quicker and eliminate delays for patients.

CQC inspectors

CQC sessions this month

As you should be aware we are expecting a visit from the CQC inspection team at some point this year. They have already been to every other trust in West Yorkshire, so we are doing everything we can to ensure we are as ready as possible   As part of our preparations we are holding two sessions in June. Please attend if you can.

Thanks for saving my baby!

Andy Cross from X-ray at CRH is about to embark on the cycle of his life after his baby son was born six weeks early and needed special care intensive with us.  He and his friends are cycling from Geneva to Barcelona in the space of five days at the end of June.

The big day looms for Celebrating Success 2015.  From Monday, June 1,  you will be able to log on and create an entry on the intranet banner. Or, if you don't have access to the intranet you can pick up a paper application form from the General Office at both sites.  read more

Is there a Messi in Medicine? 5-a-side teams wanted.

The Trust is again looking for 5-a-side teams to take part in the annual footie Trust's Mens Health Tournament.  It will again be held at Brooksbank School, Elland, and this year it will be  staged in the evening of  Wednesday July 1.  So, send out your Terry-ers and don't Roo-ney the fact you haven't got a team in it.  read more

Acre Mills in running for more top honours!

Acre Mills - our new outpatients centre in the heart of Lindley -  has now been nominated for its second top building and conservation award.  In July we are attending the national finals of the Green Apple Wards for Building and Architectural Heritage in London.  read more

Teddy's final three days

 Team Teddy has just three days left for his extreme globe-trotting campaign for Stroke Action Month.  What started off as one cuddly toy is now 10 and between them they have flown the world - accompanied by CHFT colleagues - and so far raised more than £250.  read more

Patients' photography event

People involved in a photography group as part of Pathways in Mirfield will have their work showcased at a special digital photography exhibition on Friday 5th June.  Pathways, which is jointly run by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Kirklees Council, provides a range of creative opportunities for people with mental health problems in order to help them recover.  read more
