Our Orthopaedic Team has received national recognition for its commitment to delivering the best, safe care to patients undergoing joint surgery.  The team - based on both sites -  have been recognised as a Quality Data Provider by the National Joint Registry (NJR).

Jason's a second-time staff lottery winner and how to apply for funding

Our latest staff lottery winners for February have been announced - with radiology porter Jason Atkinson scooping the second prize of £250 (his second win) - which he'll be putting towards his July holiday.   Just over 50% of the amount collected is paid out in prizes and staff can apply for funding from the remaining funds.

We announced the appointment of our next chair at CHFT yesterday  - Philip Lewer..  Philip  - currently lay chair at Leeds  South and East CCG - will  succeed  our current chairman of seven years Andrew  Haigh when he bids farewell to CHFT at the end of March.

We're not falling for it! Alvina Ali (yes we know it's you behind there!) and her 6B colleagues celebrate a top performance.

Teams across the Trust have been collecting certficates in recognition of their efforts to keep our patients safe and falls numbers down.  Here's 6B who collected a Rhodium certificate for 75 days without a fall between 13/10/2017 and 27/12/2017.

Kenya calling!

Our Respiratory Consultant  Dr Charlotte Spencer, is jetting for a two- week trip to the Kajiado District of Kenya with the Christian organisation EMMA (Evangelistic Medical Mission Abroad). This gives medics the opportunity to provide healthcare to those in real need.   Missions last between two to three weeks.  read more

Here's Jonathon Parker  - our latest colleague to be celebrating 70 years of the NHS.  On July 5 it's the special day and throughout the year CHFT is marking the platinum birthday with some special screensavers for now and much, much more as the time draws closer.  read more

New uniforms served up!

Our patient catering team at HRI is moving into a new era with a brand new set of uniforms.  The traditional whites with checked chef's pants are gone and in comes a new set in modern teal (greeny-blue) for women and grey for men colleagues.  Manager Adrian Brown, said: "We have revamped the service so it was a good time to revamp the look of the team too.  read more

Polite reminder about chat on the shuttles.

Colleagues are reminded that when they are on the shuttles, confidentiality about work and patients, should be observed.  There have been several recent reports where conversations - or phone calls - have been overheard which may not be appropriate for a wider public arena.  read more

Drop-ins for colleagues who type letters in EPR

The sessions - planned for 19th and 20th of February, aim to provide a clear understanding and demonstration on producing letters in EPR. There are various time slots being run at CRH in the Parentcraft Room. A breakdown of what's being covered and the time slots are below.  read more

Childcare voucher scheme changes - act before 27 February

The Government has set up a scheme known as Tax Free Childcare (TFC).  The changes mean that from Monday 5th April 2018, colleagues will no longer be able to join Employer Supported Childcare (ESC) known commonly as the Childcare Voucher Scheme*.  read more

Pancakes and Chinese New Year specials next week

The University of Huddersfield is appealing for volunteers willing to take part in a back pain study.  The aim of the study is to learn about biomarkers of people with low back pain.  read more

Talkthru trustees required

The Huddersfield charity, Talkthru offers a confidential counselling service for women and men facing pregnancy and baby loss, and pregnancy related issues.  They are looking for two new trustees to join them and there will be full training on offer.  They're looking for two individuals (one  asTreasurer).  read more
