Our "shamazing" Celebrating Success movie is out today and all the fab fashions from a fab night.

It was proper party time at our annual awards last week.  Our photo  - click on it to enlarge - shows just some of your CHFT colleagues on the big night itself.   There was fizz on arrival, glistening chandeliers and candles on the tables and it all came togther to make it a night to remember.

80 volunteers enjoy town centre Xmas bash

Our Volunteers' Christmas Party was this year held off-site for the first time to make it extra special for our "Supporters with a Smile".  Volunteer Co-Ordinators Anya Macbeth and Charlotte Collinson hosted and arranged the event attended by around 80 volunteers at the Textile Centre of Excellence off Leeds Road in Huddersfield.

Earlier this month we welcomed a cohort of colleagues from the Philippines.   Comms took the opportunity to interview them and first up was Faith David.  What made you come to the UK? I worked in the Philippines for nearly five years and I wanted something new and to be able to challenge myself, to meet new people.

Yet again our junior doctors' in Acute Internal Medicine have given CHFT a massive thumbs up as a training trust in the premier General Medical Council (GMC) survey!.

Quicker diagnoses for prostate cancer patients

Our Trust has speeded up the early stages of pathway for suspected prostate cancer patients and seen a huge reduction in days waiting for a diagnosis.  This has been achieved by working together by teams from ultra-sound and urology and we thank them for a fantastic new service for our patients..  read more

Babies' care up for Royal College of Midwives' award

Our new-born babies' tongue-tie care is through a national Royal College of Midwives (RCM) final.  Marilyn Rogers and Louise Brookes have been shortlisted for the RCM's JOHNSON'S® Award for Excellence in Maternity Care. They have previously won the top award at our own Celebrating Success finals - see photo attached.  read more

   The training will have been added to your competancies if you are a registered nurse. You must ensure you are signed-off as competent in ESR. Shuttle bus and transport information over the holiday period

As ever, there will be a different timetable for the shuttle bus over the festive period. The transport department will be operating a revised service - see below and the attached. We've also added the timetable to our website, so patients and visitors can see it.  read more

Our next appraisal season starts in April - workshops on offer early next year

More than 96% of colleagues had their appraisals during the season to the end of October - which is absolutely cracking stuff!  In preparation for the April appraisal season, hour-long workshops are on offer to colleagues responsible for carrying them out. Maybe you're new to holding appraisals, maybe you need a refresher.  read more

Long service award winners

Continuing our stories all about celebrating CHFT colleagues - our latest Long Service Awards took place recently.  Our Chair Andrew Haigh and Director of Finance Gary Boothby hosted the evening, where colleagues with 25 and 40 years' service were invited along for a buffet and a certificate presentation.  We've attached a few snaps.  read more
