Five stars for on-the-move Ward 20 and ward 21 to 8c at CRH complete

They're on the move today with a ringing 5 -Star endorsement from patient Julie Armstrong.  Julie, from Shelf,  Halifax,   pictured right, was on the ward 20 at HRI for a day yesterday for tests after a GP referral into the surgical assessment unit.  And she was so impressed she posted this on Facebook  and gave the Trust a 5* rating.

He pulled on his blue suede shoes and, as ever, did his bit for charity helping Children in Need to a record-breaking fundraiser of a year.  Let's face it our driver Barry Ackroyd knows how to raise a smile at work -  despite spending his days on the Elland by-pass.

The annual National Staff Survey 2017 closes next Friday 1 December and more than 37% of colleagues have already given their views. This week Owen presented his second personal charity donation to Different Strokes on behalf of information analyst Oliver Hutchinson and the team at THIS - keen to give something back to the charity who have supported a colleague in the team.  read more

Spot CHFT! Estates on podium..... again!

We were Client of the Year at the Constructing Excellence Awards.  Close working with Interserve partners - in theatres, Ward 7, the HRI main entrance and the Greenlea Unit - caught the judges eye and awarded us one of the top gongs at the Grosvenor Marriott in London.  Previously we have won value and collaboration so this was one of the best yet.  read more

Spread a little joy with our Christmas Kindness Box collection

The clinical skills and simulation team are again calling on kind-hearted colleagues at CHFT for their support. This week our bite sized learning centres around making sure risk assessments and accurate clinical documentation is carried out on admission where patients are at risk of developing a VTE.      read more

Top effort for our Neonatal Unit's cake sale

Our Neonatal unit put on a successful cake sale in support of World Prematurity Day organised by Ward Sister, Debbie Martin-Lawson.  It was hosted in the  Ingleton Falls at CRH  and was a huge success with a whopping £530 raised and all proceeds donated to Bliss, Octopus for a preemie baby and Little Miracles.  read more

Services to remember babies - "fleetingly known yet so precious"

The annual ‘Lights of Love’ service for parents to remember  babies who died during pregnancy or around birth will be held again this year at St Thomas Church in Huddersfield (opposite Wickes Store in Manchester Road).  read more

Cancer team's Health and Well being Event

The Macmillan Cancer Information service and the Cancer teams organised a Health and Wellbeing Event at Cedar Court Hotel earlier this month.  The event is part of Macmillan Recovery package which is a programme to support patients living with and beyond cancer.  read more
