He's an unlikely superhero, but ever since Don Mackenzie starred in a screensaver promoting a Trust de-clutter he's become a local legend.  Then he was dubbed Dump It Don - and it stuck. He's been recognised as "Dump It" in the streets, so he became estates' natural cheerleader for their latest campaign.

Cardiac's bagged a winner and brandy for Mandy.

We're celebrating two great charity efforts this week - by our Cardiac Rehab Team and Mandy Tolson.  Our CRH cardiac rehab team are celebrating after collecting an amazing 40 bags of stock for the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Bag It. Beat It. campaign. The donated items will now go on to be sold in BHF shops and help fund their life saving heart research.

Planned changes to Medical Services

You may be aware that the Trust has developed proposals to centralise cardiology, respiratory and elderly care services onto single sites to allow us to provide the best possible care to our patients.  The Trust currently provides inpatient respiratory, cardiology and elderly medicine services on both hospital sites.

All welcome at LGBT event on Wednesday.

We are gearing up to welcome Bradford's Chief Nurse Karen Dawber, one of our speakers at our LGBT event at CRH next Wednesday. (November 1)  The event starts at 6pm in the Ingleton Falls restaurant and runs until 7.30 pm.  read more

Flu on the increase. Are you safe? A third of CHFT frontline colleagues are.

With six inpatient flu cases already confirmed at CHFT it's worth remembering that no matter how fit and healthy you are, you can still catch it, or even pass it on without knowing. A third of all frontline colleagues at CHFT have had their jabs so with numbers on the rise there's no better time to have yours.  read more

Caring for our older patients - Our Frailty Network's in national demand.

For the past year CHFT has been part of a network aimed at supporting older people referred for our services. The final meeting of the group was a chance to celebrate the successes that the partnership has achieved and it's been so successful we've been invited to present at a national conference.  read more

Bite sized learning - risk assessments

Our bite-sized learning this week comes after an incident where a patient was found following a fall which hadn't been witnessed.  It highlights the importance of risk assessments on admission and making sure the appropriate equipment is in place. Please share this learning with your team members.   read more

ESR unavailable all this weekend - starting tomorrow tea time

In order to upgrade the ESR system, it will be unavailable between 6pm on Friday 27th October and 8am on Monday 30th October. This includes access to payslip information, booking leave and eLearning. Please plan ahead accordingly. ESR is a national NHS database managed by IBM, who decide when the system has to be maintained/upgraded.  read more

Bereavement Focus Goup

Can you help us?… we are holding a small focus group for hospital staff and bereaved relatives about ‘end of life care’.  This is an opportunity to talk about the experience of both patients and their relatives and to discuss some ideas for improvement.  read more
