Compassionate, kind and caring are only a few words to describe Gary Allchin.  Our latest Star Award winner had seen Owen a few times that day already and never thought he would be a recipient.  Gary said: "I am totally speechless for the first time in my life. I normally always have at least something to say. I am totally grateful".

Our Trust has just performed a kidney biopsy - previously only done in Leeds for our patients.  Dr Ali would like to thank everyone involved in looking after a patient - Rachel Smyth -  who presented with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) secondary to vasculitis.

Best ever Nurse Recruitment day - and it brings it all back for Brendan Brown

We staged another successful nurse recruitment morning at HRI last Saturday.  Thanks to an amazing show staged by CHFT nurses we attracted the biggest ever turnout. As a result we were able to offer 55 new contracts to mainly students and some qualified nurses.   They will take up roles across the our Trust.

Mandy Tolson, our Access to Health Records supervisor, is losing her locks this Saturday aiming to smash £600 for Macmillan cancer  support.  Her usually red or brightly-coloured hair is going to be no more at the hands of her local hairdresser, Julie, in Slaithwaite.  read more

Temporary road closures in Skircoat Green, Halifax area from Monday

Godfrey Rd will be closed from Monday (Oct 23) until Friday 27th October to fix a collapsed sewer.   The road will be closed from the junction of Skircoat Green Rd for approx. 40 meters. Access from the other end will not be affected but with the A629 Salterhebble scheme ongoing there may be extra traffic in the area for the week.  read more
