EPR snatch 5-a-side trophy after penalty shoot out.

A goalie turned penalty king at our annual men's Health 5-a-side competition.  John Afriyie - see pictures - saved the last penalty taken by Procurement then scored EPR's winning penalty to give them a 5-4 win after it had been 1-1 at full time.  He said: " It  was absolutely fantastic.  It was fun and competitive and  all the teams enjoyed it.

Bank pay changes

   Since we announced the move to pay for all bank work on a weekly basis starting in October, a lot of colleagues have told us they would prefer to continue to be paid monthly for their bank work along with their substantive monthly salary.   So we’ve listened to what you told us.

First Tissue Viability Conference opens with moving words from our CEO

More than 100  CHFT colleagues and colleagues in community and in nursing homes attended our first Tissue Viability (TV)  Conference.  Our CEO Owen Williams opened the conference at Elland Cricket Club with a personal story about his mother-in-law who  sadly, recently died.

   Our eye clinic at CRH  and HRI theatres' Joe Haigh  delivered the dough at two events for the Macmillan Coffee Morning annual fundraiser.  read more

Wellies next time. Tremendous trudge by Team Ward 5D

 A totally team effort by Ward 5D at CRH raised nearly £1k during the Alzheimer's Society Memory Walk at the weekend in Leeds - and they've already pledged to go back next year in  wellies.  It proved a really muddy four miles but the team  trudged on to raise awareness about the condition.  read more

Mansoor Ali's thanks for his first 3 years at CHFT

Dr Ali joined CHFT to set up a pioneering new  in-house renal service for us three years ago this month... and he wants to say a big thanks for all his support!.   Renal Medicine cover was traditionally  provided by visiting consultant colleagues from Leeds coming  to us once a week.  read more

It's a MUST. Getting our patients' nutrition right

Making sure our patients get the food and drink they need is a MUST(Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool) do.  It is an essential part of their recovery and there is five-step screening tool  called the MUST to identify adults who are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition.  read more

CHFT maternity showing the EPR way

CRH maternity department welcomed visitors from neighbours at Leeds and Pennine trusts to look at their K2 Maternity ERP system.  The aim was to help them as they prepare to go live with elements of the system in their trusts.  At CHFT, our Maternity Electronic System captures all aspects of obstetric care within the Athena and Guardian package.  read more

Altogether now... WYAAT update

Good progress continues to be made on the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) collaborative programme.   The Board of each of the WYAAT trusts agreed to form a Committee in Common (CIC) which is responsible for leading the joint work programme and the development of workstreams within the programme.  read more

No ESR this weekend for improvement works

   Our  ESR system will be unavailable between Friday 6pm  tomorrow and Monday 8 am (Oct 2) in order for  upgrade work to take place.  We are updating the system to essentially make it better and easier to use.    read more
