Hazel's Noble efforts bags her a Star Award!

Ultrasonographer Hazel Noble not only put the patient first... she put his dog first!  Our patient, who lives in Todmorden, had had a triple AAA scan which revealed he had a dangerously high measurement and needed to come to hospital immediately to be seen by a surgeon.

   We have welcomed a new group of nurses to CHFT.  Their inductions went throughout last week and in amongst the new intake.  CHFT has an emerging excellent reputation for supporting and training up new nurses. It seems they love the support from our educators and the in-patient training opportunities.

Better births: CHFT leading the way

CHFT has been at the forefront of some very important work to improving the birth experience for our mums.  We have been one of 16 Trusts taking part in a pilot to reduce numbers of Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injury (OASI) an injury which can occur during vaginal birth.

For John Yorke pharmacy runs through his blood...but now he's set for the great outdoors as he retires

Pharmacist John - described as a legend at his leaving do - has been supporting colleagues at CHFT for 35 years, and now he’s looking forward to dispensing help to his family and his scout group in his retirement.  John came to live in the Huddersfield area in 1979 to be closer to his then girlfriend Gill, who he then married.  read more

Inpatient survey results

Each year, all acute and specialist NHS Trusts participate in a survey of adult inpatients. Although there is a time lag between when the survey is carried out and when we receive the results of the survey, ours have now been published.  read more

Pharmacy Perfect Week starts on Monday - with ward 20 volunteering to be the first pilot

The Perfect Week is an opportunity to focus on the breadth of medicines management from a multi-professional perspective, giving us an opportunity to review performance and identify areas that work well, as well as look at where improvements can be made. Ward 20 will be our base between Monday 17 and Monday 24 July.  read more

"Just Ask" - George and co sharing information about the Faith Card

Join members of the chaplaincy as they hold events called "Just Ask" - launching the 'Faith Card’ to clinical areas.   They'll outline the requirements and practices of the major world faiths and how care-givers should always ask to see if there anything to improve the patient experience.  read more

More ESR drop-in sessions for manager self-service

More than 300 managers are now using self-service. If you need support then more drop-in sessions are planned so why not call-in and get set up so you can use Manager Self-Service?  We will give you a personal guide to the system so that you can view staff records, see the latest Training and sickness data.  read more
