Colleagues have helped to shape a new approach to learning from adverse events in the Trust. Almost 200 colleagues completed a survey and over 70 attended a focus group. Feedback was that one size doesn’t fit all and one of the suggested ways to share learning was through short messages. read more
Fruit-i-ful....our HRI greengrocer is coming to CRH and how you can grow your own!
Tony Gent - our popular Fruit and Veg man from HRI will be starting at CRH next Monday 12th June in the main entrance. He'll be there every Monday and Tuesday, initially offering fruit for sale. So stay healthy and get that 5 a day in! Tony will continue to be at HRI on Wednesday to Friday each week. read more
Surplus furniture sweep
Do you have large unwanted items on your ward or department or community site? The our estates and facilities team can help you. Over the next three weeks the team will be on-hand to help clear and recycle unwanted items of furniture and non-medical equipment. We can often find a home to reuse them. If we can’t reuse them we recycle all metal. read more
Electronic Staff Record (ESR) self-service drop-ins for managers
We are hosting drop-in sessions over the summer to help colleagues - especially managers - to get themselves up and running on ESR Self-service, Call-in and we will give you a personal guide to the system so that you can view your staffs records, see the latest training and sickness data – get access to dashboards and information which will help you to actively read more
Basic Life Support and AED training - now booked through ESR
Training for basic life support and automated external defibrillator is now booked via ESR. The attached document explains about the course and how to book. There are plenty of sessions available all year (the training last an hour). read more
Second stab at success for surgeons
Our amazing emergency surgeons are through to a second national final for their work on changing rotas to improve patient outcomes. Last month they were finalists at the BMJ Awards in London (where Will Ainslie won best kilt award)_and on July 4 they're through to the HSJ Patient Safety Awards in Manchester. read more
