Colleagues from theatres and occupational health recently climbed Mount Snowdon in the dark with two aims - to raise cash for the Wales Air Ambulance and to see a beautiful sunrise.
Operating Department Practitioners in Theatres at CRH Steve Stokes, Karen Hamer, Vicki Whiteley and Nicola Fielden were joined by Steve's wife Gemma Stokes from occupational health, and their friend Michel Chavrimootoo, on the night walk.
They set off at 1.30am from Llanberis and climbed to the summit. Gemma told CHFT Weekly: "The aim was to see the sunrise but due to dreadful bank holiday weather conditions – horizontal rain, fog and gale force winds (as seen in the photographs) this didn’t happen. Instead we battled our way to the top and then made our way back down. But we did it with a smile and still raised £350".
The team are part of a wider walking group of around 30 who have already completed several walks of varying distances including the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.
