This year the Trust will undergo its first Care Quality Commission (CQC) visit under the new system.  Now called CQC Chief Inspector of Hospitals inspections, the visits are on a much bigger scale than previously and could mean we have up to 60 visitors – all with healthcare backgrounds - as guests of CHFT.

Covered in glory - and mud!

A massive well done to the breast care theatre team for surviving the Mud Challenge. The team headed to Osmaston Manor, Derbyshire at the weekend to tackle the run and multi-challenges for charity and covered themselves in glory... and mud.

Joy all set for her marathon debut

Marathon looms for Joy

Good luck to first time marathon runner Joy Shaw from Ward 5 at HRI.  Our respiratory nurse will be one of thousands running the London marathon this weekend.  It's her first full marathon after two half marathons. She was horrifed at first to win a place and is now up for the challenge for the Forget me Not Hospice.  CHFT Weekly wishes her well and......

ACU team on the road

Our team from the assisted conception unit attended their first ever roadshow to promote CHFT's team and care we offer for couples wating to become families. They attended the event at the Royal Armouries in Leeds where other exhibitors included Manchester Fertility Service, Reproductive Medicine and CARE Sheffield.

   Orthopaedic receptionist Alison Taylor has left the Trust after 29 ½ years. She celebrated at a joint event at La Luna in Halifax with colleagues Linda Hirst & Margaret Glencross. She said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed and loved working at the Royal Halifax Infirmary and now the Calderdale Royal Hospital.  read more
