Good Luck at the British Medical Journal finals tonight

Our general surgical team is at the British Medical Journals Awards 2017 finals tonight in London after having been shortlisted for the prestigious Surgical Team of the Year Award.  They have made it through after the department submitted an application titled “Better Emergency Surgical Care” which focussed on consultants' on-call rotas.

Janet Morrison's vintage send-off, Elvis and another Prince William connection

Janet Morrison was all shook up at the lengths her colleagues went to for a spectacular retirement send-off.  They hired a vintage bus for a mystery tour, told her to keep the day free and went to Howarth where an Elvis impersonator was waiting for a special performance.  Resplendent in 50s tea dresses, Janet said: " I love Elvis and he was there for us only.

Estates and Facilitiescelebrated a milestone in the General Office at CRH recently, when Anna Slee, Administration and Bereavement Assistant, celebrated 25 years working for CHFT.   Anna told us more about her time at CHFT: "I started working for the Trust on 21st April 1992 in the Trust Headquarters at the Royal Halifax Infirmary.  read more

Tomorrow is World Hand Hygenie Day: Fight Antibiotic Resistance

      Hand hygiene is important every single day of the year however, in collaboration with World Health Organisation and many other hospitals nationally and internationally there is a single date when there is a focus on a different hand hygiene topic each year.   That date is tomorrow and this year's focus is on antibiotic resistance.  read more
