   As from Monday, April 20, 2015, we are introducing changes to the current parking charges and permits in operation at both hospitals.  We know that the current permit allocation is oversubscribed and required a complete review and reallocation to make it as fair as possible for all colleagues.

X-ray for surgery

Theatres have received a new piece of equipment to help with surgery for the lower elbow and knee.  The Fluoroscan Insight FD is the next generation in mini c-arm x-ray imaging. Its controls are located within the sterile area and trained surgeons can access x-ray images of the affected areas throughout the entire operation.

You are amazing - Mayor's thanks to Children's Ward

The former Mayor and Mayoress of Hebden Royd have made a donation to the children’s ward at CRH.  The money donated has gone towards providing more parent beds and portable DVD players and fun packs for the children to pass the time.  Karl and Felicity Boggis chose the Children’s ward at CRH as their charity of choice for this year.

NVQ x 2 - Well done Gemma and Anna

Gemma Stokes and Anna Maffin who work in Occupational Health at CRH have both completed their NVQ level 2 in customer service.  The nine month course in customer service started in June last year was advertised on the intranet and the qualification was completed through the Wakefield College.

Better use of Theatres

Getting better use of our theatres to provide better patient care is one of the Turnaround programmes currently underway.  The Theatre PMO Scheme started in February 2015 and is working with the clinical teams within surgery to ensure that collaborative patient-centred working is at the forefront of the scheme.  read more

Team share Parkinson's advice at Town Hall

It was a successful day for our Neuro Community Rehab team at the Town Hall in Huddersfield as a forerunner to Parkinsons Awareness Week. (April 20-29)  They were offering the public extra advice about their services and how to access them. The full team includes speech therapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurse and rehabilitation assistants.  read more

Working towards a Trust-wide managed print solution

Our Trust has appointed Canon (UK) Limited to provide a Trust-wide managed print solution (MPS). This will be achieved through a phased implementation over the coming months.  read more

Tour De Yorkshire May 3

Following the success of the Tour de France last year, Yorkshire will now play host to the Tour de Yorkshire. Like the Tour de France, the Tour de Yorkshire is a professional cycle race which international teams take part in.  The race will take place over three days from Friday 1st May – Sunday 3rd May 2015 (May Day Bank Holiday weekend).  read more

I would like to say a huge thank you to each of you that have been instrumental in going the extra mile in the implementation of the new beds and hybrid mattresses over the past few weeks. You have all made the project possible through giving up time over four weekends to come in and help with the implementation.  read more

Mambo on! - Veronica's charity dance challenge

Our breast care specialist nurse Veronica Allinson has been ‘volunteered’ to take part in a ‘Let’s Dance’ event for the NSPCC  - and she need sponsors!!  About eight couples are taking part in a dance competition to win the coveted glitter ball and all non-professionals.  read more

Our soup magician Matt McNickle served up at the Members Forum in the HRI Discussion Room 1. The talk was one of two this week highlighting how we are imporivng our meals choice and service to patients.  read more
