Husband's shock as wife shares a bed with him! Nights' star Gill Callaghan retires.

   Theatres' Gill Callaghan, our last permanent contracted night-staffer,  has retired after an amazing 42-year NHS career - 32 of them on the night shift!  It's a double celebration as last night  she also received her 40 years' service award  - two years late due to her early records going missing.

Big hug for Pip Lister after sooooo many babies

After 45 years,  Philippa Lister has hung up her bootees.     She's heading out of the assisted conception unit at CRH (now known as Yorkshire Fertility)  and into a new  life of family, dog-walking, allotments and holidays.She's was a midwife for 20 years and worked in assisted conception for another 20.

Top of the Morning.... early discharges delivering for patients

Discharging patients as early as possible is reaping benefits for patients and colleagues on ward 5. They are consistently the top ward for discharges before 11am, with their best week seeing 92% of patients leave on time.  Ward Manager Mandy Musgreave said “It’s just better for everyone and I’m really pleased that we do this as a matter of course day-in, day-out.  read more

Cracking win for HRI. ... and "man of few words" Mr Tuxedo Paul Gilling is our latest Hello My Name is....

CHFT and our Interserve partners have scooped another top award - for our HRI's new chemotherapy and oncology outpatients' centre.  They've scooped the top award at the Committed to Construction In Humber and West Yorkshire award 2017 for the best project under £5m at a ceremony in Leeds.  read more

EP-caR - like looking after your car...plus training update

After almost two years of designing, building and testing we have an EPR system which works and we’ll be going live with – that’s a huge achievement in itself.  It’s also great that colleagues are making suggestions for future changes as they attend training and get first sight of the system.  read more

'Tis the season to get mud-dy! Charity swamp dodging with Angiography

Our  Angiography team from CRH ran 5 KM in the Major Series at Bramham Park, Leeds - and survived a swamp!.      The event which is run by the British Military Fitness and donates some of the funds raised to The Royal British Legion.  read more
