Lorna Wilson's thanks for husband's 5* CHFT heart care.

Speech and Language Therapist Lorna Wilson's just given us a 5* rating on Facebook after her husband needed a pacemaker fitting just four months after they got married.  Lorna who has worked at CHFT since September 2015 posted: “Thank you to all staff on the coronary care unit at CRH for the excellent care my husband Carl received this week.

HCAs and docs during the first week of training

We're EPR ready.. yet 1000 e-rostered colleagues still need to book their training.

Our healthcare assistants are currently setting the pace for training bookings -  as our first week of EPR training got underway right across the Trust.   Lead EPR modernisation nurse Jackie Murphy congratulated them for an amazing sign-up rate.  Trust-wide, across all colleagues, we have now topped 80% signed up.

Acre Mills receives top award in Huddersfield

Acre Mills topped all the local opposition at the annual Huddersfield Civic Society awards.     It won best refurbishment and the best overall project in the past year.     Estates' Paul Gilling and matron Chris Bentley represented the Trust at the event at Huddersfield Town Hall.  read more

One of the best I have attended! Bridging the Gap at CHFT gets rave reviews

Our Specialist Palliative Care Team teamed up with colleagues at Overgate and Kirkwood Hospices  for our 2nd Annual Bridging the Gap (BtG) study day for FY2 doctors from across the Yorkshire Deanery.  The BtG days are run by various specialities to allow FY2s some insight into the options available for their careers.  read more

Your verdict! What CHFT colleagues told the annual staff survey

NHS England has published the results of the 2016 NHS Staff Survey. Our response rate was 44.5% up from 40.31% last year. And nationally around 420,000 NHS workers responded.     CHFT results are attached below.  read more

Our Yorkshire Fertility Service will be the focus of a day of programmes on BBC Radio Leeds next Wednesday. (92.4 FM)  The first will be on the Breakfast Show and different aspects will also feature in the lunchtime and drive-time shows.  read more

Healthroster shift-ing opinions - "It has a fairness button" says Ward Manager Debbie

Our new eRostering system has got the thumbs up from Debbie on ward 1d at CRH. "It must be really simple to use as I know my team would come and tell me if it wasn't!".     Healthroster is the UK's most widely used eRostering system, used by more than 60% of NHS trusts.  read more

Takeaway service. Tommy and our porters to help with clear out.

If you have surplus furniture or a large item, (not medical equipment) please contact the porters so they can be taken away and disposed of.      We can often find a home to reuse furniture and equipment. If we can’t reuse it we recycle all metal and other items go for energy reclamation, so we are not contributing to landfill.  read more

Here's our new Trust logo - please use it.

A quick reminder that we have a new NHS CHFT logo - as do all Trusts in the country.    It now has the Trust name beneath the NHS rather than alongside it and whenever possible it needs to be used on all new documents. If you are amending an old one then please update the logo too.  read more

Overseas visitors: law change April 2017

From April 2017 all hospitals will be legally bound to check upfront whether patients are eligible for free NHS treatment.     It is part of the Government's plans to recover the cost of up to £500 million a year for health treatments provided to patients from overseas who are not eligible for free care.  read more

Physio team effort

All change in Physio. Team effort results in safer exercises for patients.

Our outpatient physiotherapy team has had a busy twelve months revamping their supervised exercise classes.      They have developed a new exercise session process, incorporating a falls element to help reduce the risk of incidents. The changes were introduced after a patient sustained a fall during one of the classes.  read more
