Teifi's our third Prof.

Our consultant ophthalmologist Teifi James -  the world's leading "dry eye" expert - has been appointed an honorary visiting professor.     He is the third  "prof" at CHFT and  joins oncologist JK Joffe and  knee expert  Gautam Chakrabarty to acquire the prestigious title.

Yorkshire Fertility's Big Night Out - after massively busy year

   The Christmas do was almost overlooked by the team in Yorkshire Fertility.     They've been so busy expanding into Mid Yorks and Bradford  this year that nothing was booked but  despite it being last-minute there was still a good night for colleagues (and partners) at Julios in Halifax.

A massive thank-you to The Huddersfield Giants squad and Huddersfield Town players who visited  CRH children’s ward - and would have come to HRI but all our patietns had gone home.     Members of the Claret and Gold first team went around the hospitals delivering goodie bags, which contained lots of Giants gifts.

1st flu case confirmed at CHFT....though hard work by Kate and the community midwives increases vaccination uptake by 11% in pregnant mums

Our Pharmacy Manufacturing unit is at the forefront of research to save lives through organ transplantation.     A special solution is being developed in labs there which will help to preserve human organs which have been removed and are awaiting transplant.  read more

Almost 140 deaf patients have been supported through their CHFT experience by Topp Language Solutions - our specialist British Sign Language (BSL) provider - since we started working with them June.  read more

Get yourself fully EQUIPed before making service or policy changes - from January 2017

From Sunday 1 January, if you intend to write or revise a policy or procedure, introduce a new service or make a change to a service you need to EQUIP yourself by completing our new online form before doing so.     This shows we're demonstrating we’re taking all our patients’ and colleagues’ specific and individual needs into account.  read more

New care pathway for Urology Patients - pilot scheme launches Monday

From Monday, December 19, our patients with urology conditions of haematuria and acute retention of urine will be cared for on a new ambulatory unit.     Previously they were admitted onto ward 22 at HRI after presenting at A&E or by GP referral.  read more
