Drake's a Bake Off champion!

   Wendy Drake's Key Lime Cheesecake claimed top prize at this year's ISS annual Bake Off Competition.     Wendy, a Healthcare Cleaner on 1D, beat off strong competition in the event which raised £1,015 to be shared between LDRP to refurbish their Bereavement Room and funds for the ISS Annual Children’s Christmas Party.  read more

Pathology celebrating turnaround in blood to machine time - improving diagnosis of severe conditions like Sepsis

Teamwork and training at the labs at CRH has seen compliance in out-of-hours bood cultures almost double in nine months - resulting in improved outcomes for patients.     This all began when an audit in July 2015 highlighted that only 9% of these blood cultures were being incubated in the blood-culture machine within four hours of collection.  read more

Tap & Go events coverage

Around 1,000 colleagues have been activated at our Tap and Go sessions this week in a "fantastic" turnout.     Tap and Go is the next step along the road to the Electronic Patient Record system which will be introduced next year. Activating sessions were held at the old chapel at CRH where Rob Aitchison is pictured and at Ward 14 at HRI.  read more
