 All of Ward 17 at HRI have been hailed this month for their combined effort to diffuse a very difficult situation*     On-call manager Kathryn Aldous attended and found the team having to manage a situation where the police had had to be called. Security have said it was one of the most challenging situations they had to deal with.

Candice might think she's Queen of the kitchen right now, but CRH's radiographer Glenda Goodall certainly knows her pastries from her pavlovas!     Our Glenda was outright champ at a charity Bake Off challenge - and in the process gained a lot of new 'flans' after taking the most winning votes for her "fantastic lemon cake".

Congrats to all in the ANTT training programme after a tremendous first year under the Infection Prevention and Control Team.     Compliance across the Trust has gone up from 66% to 78% - well on our way to the 90% expected. Great news  especially it is continuing to rise month by month yet still some way to go.

Karen Guy's 140-fridge mission to keep medicines cool

   Our Trust has a new device which measures the temperatures of medicines inside our fridges instead of just the air temperature inside them.     Karen Guy has the job of fitting them into 140 fridges across the Trust  and she stresses the importance of getting medicines storage right.  read more

The FALLs Prevention Assistant Practitioners who are part of the Support and Independence Team have once again been raising awareness about the importance of strength & balance exercise for anyone over the age of 50 who may feel unsteady, have problems with balance, have fallen or have a fear of falling when walking.  read more

Working together to get results for stroke rehab patients on ward 7b

Having a stroke can be a life changing and traumatic event, which often takes time and the input of a whole multi-disciplinary team to help people back to normal life.        The way this rehabilitation is delivered in the Trust is being transformed on Ward 7b at CRH.  read more
